Misc. Charlotte County Scenes

Remnants of an old schoolhouse I found while traipsing Charlotte County on Scuffletown Rd.

This is a huge old house I stumbled upon while perusing down a dirt road in Charlotte County. Located on Cargills Creek Road, this building looks like an old plantation home or meeting house of some kind. It sits on the shores of the Roanoke (Staunton) River (bottom left picture faces the river). The bottom right picture faces the current dirt road.

This is the view down the above-mentioned dirt road.

Clarkton Bridge Road in Charlotte County will lead you to this closed bridge that still spans the Staunton. I don't know the reason for it's closure, except that it greatly reduces the places to cross the river in and around the county.

The now-dead-end road has obviously become a gathering place for local teens, judging by the graffitti and tossed beer cans.
